The main objectives of “Jessica Plunkett Drama Academy” in Kerry is to build confidence, develop life skills, enable students to be good team players in a fun filled, non pressurised atmosphere. The focus is to allow plenty of encouragement, team bonding and individual attention. The students aged 5-18 will be gently encouraged to step outside their comfort zone. Public speaking, presentation skills, performance, social interaction, and self belief will be explored through the medium of Drama. Students will choose from a range of poetry and monologues that are age appropriate with a view to gaining confidence to perform, not only for their class but culminating in a performance for family and friends at the end of the year.
Parents will be encouraged to speak to Jessica at the start of term to discuss any specific issue or request they may need worked on throughout the terms.

Classes will also be run in a non, pressure atmosphere and non exam focused environment. It will however be more structured and focused on the audition process. This is to encourage the student who wishes to take Drama to a more advanced level.

Whilst many children love to perform and others may need encouragement and support to do so, the aim of the Academy is that each student will stand in their own spotlight and that each performer will have their own moment to shine in whatever way they specifically need. The group will be encouraged to see that each individual performance is unique and special in it’s own right.
